Christian Kelleher
Christian Kelleher is the Head of Special Collections for the University of Houston Libraries. He holds Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) and Master of Arts (MA) in Journalism degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Houston, Christian was the archivist at the Nettie Lee Benson Latin American Collection at UT Austin, and an archivist with History Associates Incorporated in Rockville, MD. He also was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea, West Africa. He holds certification from the Academy of Certified Archivists.
Christian’s work as an archivist introduced him to many early Texas artists through both archives and the scholarship that draws from those archives. His involvement with CASETA grew out of participation in the local Houston Earlier Texas Art Group (HETAG) and many encounters with CASETA in exhibits, lectures, and other events around the state.
