Pat Jakobi
Although Pat Jakobi has been interested in early American art history since her college days, life led her on a different route and she spent most of her career in health planning and policy analysis, eventually earning a Ph.D. in History of Medicine from the Institute for the Medical Humanities at the University of Texas Medical Branch. After retiring, she returned to her earlier interest, co-authoring a compendium of artists associated with the first 100 years of the Galveston Art League. Her recently published book, Early Galveston Artists and Photographers: Recovering a Legacy, grew out of that earlier effort.
